Our Show and Tell Day

To end the term we shared about what we have learnt and got the parents to join in with a QUIZ! It was fun! The parents gave a gold coin to enter the quiz. We raised $33.50 and it will all go towards buying socks (yes you need them in the winter) for the the homeless in Tauranga.

"I poured the vinegar into the volcano. It exploded. I saw orange lava come out. I felt happy" said Lucas

"I brought food colouring and we put the yellow and red colouring into the volcano" said Axel.

Plant Fossils and our Crayon Rubbings

A leaf falls off a tree then dirt covers over top of it. The rocks go on top of the dirt and they push the leaf down. After a 100 years a scientist comes along and finds the marks the leaf has left. We call these marks fossils.
By Maddison.

Yesterday we made leaf rubbings to help us understand how plant fossils are made.

We have been sick!

This term many of us have been sick. Over half the class has had the flu and had to be at home for at least 2 days.

Today we talked about how we can keep healthy. This is what we came up with:
1) "We need to cover our mouths when we cough or sneeze" said Caitlin.
2) "You need to wash your hands after you have been to the toilet and before you eat food" said Dior.
3) Ned said "You must always put your shoes on when you go outside".
4) "You should eat healthy food and don't go to school when your sick!" Said Maddison.

These are the rules we will follow in B2.

What we shared in Assembly today :+)

Today we shared our STAR POSTERS. Mrs Bridge showed us how to shade and use 'colour on colour' to draw our faces.
We then got our loved ones to write some nice comments about us on stars. We feel proud when we read the comments.

"The Goose And the Golden Eggs." We are learning to retell stories using adjectives (describing words).

The Goose And The Golden Eggs.
Retold by Caitlin
(My favourite part)

Once there was a farmer with hairy legs and a wife that smelt of perfume. They went to get a waddling goose. The next day the goose had laid a golden egg, then every day the goose laid a golden egg. The more eggs the more greedier they became.

The Goose And The Golden Eggs.
Retold by Ethan

Once there was a farmer with hairy legs and his mean wife. Together they bought a white goose. The next morning the farmer’s wife found a golden egg under the goose. Every morning the farmer's wife kept finding golden eggs and sold them. One day the farmer's wife said "We should kill the goose". So they killed the goose. "Oh silly me" said the wife.

How do we know something is truthful??

Yesterday we learnt about how to tell if something was true. We learnt that we need to have 2 or 3 witnesses. The bible also tells the truth and it says that dinosaurs lived.
By Daniel

Deuteronomy 19:15
One witness is not enough……….. A matter must be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses.

John 14:6
Jesus said “I am the way the truth and the life.”

How do we know Dinosaurs lived?

This morning we got sidetracked and started talking about how we know dinosaurs lived.
We came up with TWO good reasons:
1) Scientists have found skeletons.
2) There are dinosaurs in the bible.

Job 40:15-18

Look at the BEHEMOTH,
which I made along with you
and which feeds on grass like an ox.
What strength he has in his loins,
what power in the muscles of his belly!
His tail sways like a cedar;
the sinews of his thighs are close-knit.
His bones are tubes of bronze,
his limbs like rods of iron.
